Staff Picks: Molly's Essentials

From Daily miles to Race Day Favourites, Molly runs us through her picks from our collection

With so much on offer in the running world, it can be hard to find the truly good stuff. Separating what's simply popular online from the trusted pieces - that can be relied upon by runners at all levels - is difficult. We've compiled a list of our favourite items, wear-tested and used day after day, race after race, and stood up to the ordeals of training.

First up, Molly talks us through her essentials that have carried her from a strong showing at London to PBs at the Half Marathon and 10k distances more recently.

Training Kit

"I’ve been focusing on shorter distances lately, working on improving my 10K time.My go-to training kit is all about comfort. As the evenings get darker, I've taken my sessions to the treadmill. The SOAR Race Tee keeps me cool thanks to its ultra-light mesh. This pairs pefectly with the Satisfy Space-O 2.5" Distance Shorts, which stretch with my body and offer lots of pockets for when I want to up the distance."

Race Day

"For race day, no matter the weather, I keep things simple and lightweight. The Bandit Vento™ 3" Split Shorts give total freedom to move, while the SOAR Race Vest keeps me cool and comfortable when the pace picks up. Now a non-negotiable for me, the Bandit Scoop Neck Bra is a game-changer! And I always finish with SUMS socks."

SHOE ROTATION

I’m lucky enough to run in lots of trainers, but here’s what I’ve been most excited to grab from the cupboard lately.

Everyday Training: Salomon Aero Glide 3

"Cushioned and light, this has become my go-to daily trainer. It keeps my legs feeling fresh and gives just the right amount of space in the toe box, so I’ve got full mobility and comfort even on longer runs."

Session Days: Saucony Endorphin Speed 5

"When it’s time to pick up the pace, I reach for these. The nylon plate gives me an extra bit of snap without feeling overly aggressive."

Race Day: On Cloudboom Strike

"For my last few races, I've reached for the ON Cloudboom Strike. The upper has plenty of room but still feels stable, and as a heel striker, I really appreciate the extra foam through the heel."
