Throughout February, we've been running weekly training sessions for curious runners looking to push themselves and explore new avenues for running and training. For this, Runlimited have partnered with Hoka and Cadence, but, just why have we decided to get people running on a Wednesday night?
The Facts:
When: Meet at 7pm, every Wednesday throughout February.
Where: Meet at 56 Baker Street, London. Sessions take place around Regent's Park.
Who's this for? Curious runners with a little experience looking to dip their toes into speed training, or more-experienced runners wanting to train with a group. If you can run about 10km, you will be able to join!
What To Expect
To start with the basics, you should be ready for... you guessed it, a session! By that, we mean a warmup followed by some kind of speedy running that is faster than your easy pace and then a cooldown.
Each week, our coaches Scott and Liam will be putting you through your paces with a different type of training, meaning you'll explore a range of common training sessions that make up most running training plans. Intervals, Tempo Runs, Fartlek and Hill Reps will be on the menu, with our coaches on hand to explain the what and why of each.
Every session will be at your own pace, so we welcome all abilities provided you can run around 10km, even if you've never done any kind of formal session before. We also welcome experienced runners who simply want to join others and run together with some like minded folks. It's always better together!
Before and after each session, both Liam and Scott will be on hand to chat all things training and answer questions, clear up anxieties and generally be there to help (and maybe crack a few jokes with you all).
Hoka and Cadence are our sponsors for the series. Each week, we'll have goodies from Cadence after each session, and some Hoka freebies to take home. On our session on 19th Feb, the fellas at Hoka will drop in with a set of test pairs of their brand-new Cielo x1 3.0 racing shoe to take for a spin.
