Two Thousand and Twenty Five was the first full calendar year of Runlimited’s existence. Here’s a wizz through the months in the form of a poem. Disclaimer, this poem contains very loose and inconsistent use of meter, verse, rhyme scheme and rhythm. For the academically inclined, the poet sincerely apologises for this ham-fisted approach to the artform.
Early in Jan, frost on the ground, we took on the Claw.
The five hills of Highgate, in Adios Pro 4s.
But soon it was February with 12 weeks to London
We started the Training Block, with each Sundays Long Run
Thanks to New Balance and to our pacers,
We helped our runners become marathon racers.
March brought the spring, and with it some sun
We sent Jonty off for The Speed Project run.
Crossing the desert from LA to Vegas
Supporting a cause, writing tales for the ages.
In our diary, April’s schedule was busiest
In the marathon our team did the business!
But not before we opened our Expo,
The best pop-up all year (everyone said so!)
We took a brass band to Hackney to help us cheer
That was in May, not halfway on the year!
The Milestone Pursuit joined us each month
But June’s evening talk was pick of the bunch.
Later that week we began showcasing athletes
From London’s elite scene, in training and track meets.
Speaking of track, July brought more races
At Highgate and Southwark, some for all paces.
The London 5000 we watched Luca Liam and Kurt
And at Pacers track night, many people’s first!
We Raced A Mile with Nike one evening in August,
A track race for women, Olympic Stadium at dusk.
Also that month, hosting a series of talks at the store
By Raziq, on inclusion, culture in running and more
But then came September, we closed up St. Paul’s
From Cheapside we left but new opportunity called.
Yes we were sad - it was where things all started
But we opened up Baker and to kick of we partied!
Wow it goes fast, already October, that’s mad!
This month was a fun one, as we welcomed R.A.D®!
New to running, but we had to give them a go
Since we became authorized dealers of their UFO.
At the shop in November we hosted some famous faces
The day before Nike’s After Dark races.
Dina, Sifan and Caster shared more of their lives
Beyond running. But we couldn’t let them go without getting advice!
And now it’s December, but we haven’t slowed down.
Alongside Bandit and Maurten hosted the best race in town!
We raced XC over the mud but under the lights
Had some incredible races at Winter Nights!
There we have it, a sample of our year in a poem,
If you enjoy it, buy the poet a beer (you owe ‘im!)
